Busker Brownes

Busker Brownes Bar & Kirbys Restaurant is set in the heart of Galway City’s vibrant & chique Latin Quarter. It is housed in an historic building tracing its origins back to 1615. Over the years it has served as a meeting place for the Tribes of Galway, a Convent and a barracks. Nowadays it is an impressive pub with medieval stonework side by side with contemporary furniture. The pub is impressivly designed with sereral bars and floors. Indeed from the outside it looks deceptively small but one inside you have many options such as The Slate House Bar towards the rear which can also be accessed from Kirwan's lane. There is also another bar and private party room upstairs. Buskers really comes alive at the weekends when DJ's keep the place jumping. The clientele is well dressed and also gets a good age spread.

Friday & Saturday's are jovial thanks to DJ Rob and a late bar. The Sunday Jazz session which happens around lunchtime is always worth a look especially if you are trying to get rid of the after effects of Saturday night. Or indeed Monday nights jazz session to get rid of the Sunday blues.
