General Questions

  • I've registered with Recruit Direct but have not yet received a verification email, Why?
  • In certain instances we have noticed that automated e-mails e.g.' verification e-mails sent to users following registration do not make it to the relevant users inbox, this in many instances is due to the fact that the mail has been intercepted by your 'Anti-Spam' software and added to your Junk items.  As a result you will need to add noreply@recruitdirect.ie to your safe senders list (assuming you are using Microsoft Outlook), which you can do as follows:

From the Microsoft Outlook Menu bar at the top of the screen,
    Select Actions | Junk E-Mail | Junk E-Mail Options
Go to the Safe Senders Tab.
    Click on the 'Add' button
Then type or paste the noreply@recruitdirect.ie email address into the 'Add address or Domain' field and click OK.
Then click OK once more and the window should close.
Return to www.recruitdirect.ie , click on login and enter the detail which is requested of you.
Once you've input the correct 'Username and Password'
Your will receive a message stating that the:

'email account has not been authenticated. You need to click on the link in the authentication email that was sent to you, otherwise you can click here to send a new authentication email'

In this instance click on the 'click here to send a new authentication email' link and you should receive you're authentication e-mail in your inbox within moments.

Once you receive this mail, follow the instructions within it.

  • How can I save €1000’s by bypassing middle men and Agencies?
  • Typically when organisations decide to recruit, it is not a decision which they take lightly and traditional methods of recruitment including sourcing agencies to secure resources can prove to be an EXTREMELY expensive means of recruiting. See table below for an illustration of typical agency fees:

    Salary % Commission Commission Fee
    <40k 15% - 20% 15% - €6,000
    40k - 60k 20% - 25% 20% - €10,000 (@ 50k)
    60k-80k 22% - 27% 22% - €15,400 (@ 70k)
    >80K 25% - 30% 25% - €21,250 (@ 85k)

You can make ‘Significant Savings’ by Posting a Job with RD for as little as €99 (excl VAT)

Also by saving on recruitment fee’s you may be in a position to hire more senior resource given that you will likely have more budget available to you.

  • How can I gain access to 1000’s of potential candidate matches?
  • RecruitDirect encourage perspective Job Hunters to submit a current CV when registering to avail of RD services and many of our registered Job Hunters have made their CV’s available for public consumption. Hiring organisations can in turn gain access to our CV database for a nominal fee – find out more by clicking here.

    • Our online CV database is constantly growing and contains a diverse cross-section of potential candidates, with diverse skills from all major industry sectors.
    • Our ground breaking CV search interface, makes life easy for employers searching for particular candidates, who meet specific criteria, which may be of interest to them.
  • How can I save time by ‘Recruiting Direct’?
  • It’s a common misperception that recruitment agencies speed up the recruitment cycle when in reality they actually can slow the process down drastically by:

    • Introducing an extra layer of communication between the recruiting organisation and the candidate.
    • Not vetting/interviewing specific candidates thoroughly enough, which leads to non-compatible candidates going forward to interview stage which contributes towards slowing the recruitment process down significantly.
    • Excluding potential candidates who may not have specific skills, but who may be worthy of an interview given other experience.

By Recruiting Directly – you take control of the process and you make decisions about progressing candidates to interview based upon a greater cross-section of applicants.

  • Will Recruiting Directly not cost me additional time and money in terms of removing my focus from day to day activities?
  • In short NO for the following reasons:

    • Hiring Mangers and HR managers alike, need to vet CV’s which agencies submit anyway pre-interview.
    • Hiring Managers and HR managers need to schedule interviews with short-listed candidates.
    • For the fees which agencies are paid one could even consider hiring part-time or ( depending on volumes) fulltime resource to manage the recruitment process should time become a serious issue.
    • In essence by taking control of the process, you own the process and in turn the power to negotiate with candidates with respect to terms and conditions directly.
  • How do I Register to become an Employer?
